| Bio: | i'm from juneau alaska. or really, southeast alaska. like all hometowns i love it and i hate it. i leave, only to find myself wishing to get back as soon as possible. i was raised in rain, mountains, forest, and ocean. i can live in cities, suburbs, tundra, tropics and i imagine desert (although the idea of a place entirely without water kind of freaks me out) but after a while i go a little crazy. same way with people. i like people, love them even, but after a while i go a little nuts if i'm around too many people too much. so i read. a lot. and i walk and hike and bike a lot.
in the last 5 years i've lived in 5 places moving on average every 4 months, visiting countless states and 19 countries. i get restless. staying in any one place for too long makes me antsy and my solution is generally to take a boat or car ride to somewhere else for the day. it doesn't matter if i actually go anywhere. just as long as i'm going.
i'm now living back in juneau in a beautiful apartment with a beautiful man (cheesy but true). i was student teaching, but i quit my master of arts in teaching program, so now i'm trying to learn how to do other things besides go to school and teach school. so i'm a waitress with a liberal arts degree in the evening, a writer (sort of) in the morning and afternoon time, and am having a good time all the time.
i'm excited and hopeful, some might say naively so, for just about everything that i will ever do.
